How Do I Become A Christian?
A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. He or she enjoys a fruitful, growing relationship with Him, drawing upon Jesus’s endless strength for life’s difficulties.
Each of us is made in God’s Image. We often search for answers in life. How good it is to know that since we are God’s Creation, the answer to our search leads to rest, comfort, and fulfillment in God.
If you’re ready to find the answer to your search, it’s important to know these facts from the Bible, God’s Holy Word:
God Loves Us
God loves every person. Because of this, God desires that each of us enjoys a relationship with him. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5)

We Are All Sinners
Because we all disobey God from time to time, we are sinners. Sin is choosing to choose one’s own way rather than following God. (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10)
Sin Separates Us From God
Sin, or choosing not to follow God, creates a barrier between us and God, Who is holy. Without God, we face a Christless future — an eternity without God’s Love the Bible calls “hell.” (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23)
We Can't Save Ourselves
Often, it is easy to believe that through our own efforts, we can overcome sin by ourselves. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do on our own to restore our relationship with God. In other words, God’s eternal salvation cannot be earned. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5)
God Sent Jesus to Solve the Sin Problem
Jesus’s, God’s Son, died by crucifixion, was buried, and rose from death to remove the barrier between us and God. Jesus took our punishment upon Himself. (I Peter 2:24; Romans 5:8; II Corinthians 5:21)
We Can Trust Jesus through Faith
Faith is belief in Christ rather than trusting our own efforts to overcome sin. Faith involves being genuinely sorry for sin and our willingness to turn away from sin. (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10)
Through Prayer, We Can Trust Jesus
We must admit to God that we are sinners. Also, we must be sorry for our sinfulness and ask God to forgive our sins.
Trusting in Jesus is just the beginning. Join our beautiful family of faith at First Baptist!
